Donating

It has been nine years since Matthew died and the Matthew Gfeller Foundation began its work. Over that time we have accomplished a great deal together toward achieving our mission of helping prevent, recognize and treat youth sports head injuries.

At our 2017 board meeting, the board voted to dissolve the foundation effective July of 2017. This does not mean that our work stops, it means that we will now direct all of our efforts to the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

In the future, if you would like to support our work financially, then we would ask you to consider a direct gift to the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and / or to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Since Matthew died, 100% of the Matthew Gfeller Foundation fundraising proceeds have benefited both of these institutions.

We thank you again for all of your love and support for the good works that we have done since 2008. Know that this work will continue, and that as Matthew said so many times, “We will not let you down.”

Play it safe,

Lisa and Bob Gfeller
